The origins of Lukov Castle, located in the foothills of the Hostýn Hills, go back to the first quarter of the 13th century. The structure was constructed by a building workshop, which also constructed the monastery at Velehrad. The castle was one of the royal land fortresses in pawn, which Emperor Charles IV, then the Margrave of Moravia, had to buy out. The structure, however, was not to remain in the hands of the crown for long, passing gradually to several owners, including the Sternberg and Kunštát noble families. One of the owners was Albrecht of Wallenstein (Waldstein), who acquired the castle through marriage. In the period of the Thirty Years` War, the castle became the centre of Wallachian riots aimed against the royal power. Later on, however, the structure lost its importance as a military base and from 1804 onwards it was mentioned in records as a ruin.

Крепость Луков. Над деревней Луков возвышаются развалины готической крепости, которая была построена в 1-ой половине 13-го века. В 1626 году эту крупную сторожевую крепость добыли и уничтожили валашские повстанцы, а с 1870 года она полностью покинута. Частично реконструированную средневековую крепость окружает красивый природный пейзаж букового леса и известняковых скал, которые используются для тренировок многочисленными альпинистами.
